I like all these reunions. Now only if In My Eyes, Over My dead Body and Unbroken could get back together and if This is Hell took some time off just for Backup PLan and Scraps and Heart Attacks tours.

so this Euro hardcore kid just came in Bama Fever. He was from Belgium and his parents split and his dad moved to Huntsville. Why, I dont know haha. His band has been on tour with This is Hell, Mental, Justice, and they played with 100 Demons and Ring worm. Pretty crazy. We got to talkin and he seriously tried to talk me into coming over there and staying with him. It was pretty crazy. Just thought I would let you guys know.

[ music | Amina ]

Alright, as some of you may have read I went to see Sigur Ros last night and this is going to be a post all about the show so if you don't care to read about my first Sigur Ros experience then scroll on...

Last night I went to Atlanta to see Sigur Ros. It was in the Woodruff Arts Center at the Atlanta Symphony Hall. I had no idea what to expect. I found an usher and showed them my ticket and they showed me my seat. AMAZING! The hall it was in had floor seats, a balcony and another balcony over it. I was in the first balcony, second row, exactly in the middle, no one to either side of me or in front of me. So it felt like Sigur ros was playing just for me and only me.

Well the band that travels with them and always opens for them, Amina, opened but only played four songs because some of their instruments got lost. For the most part they are just a four girl string quartet, but they also play xylophone, and one girl spun her finger around some glasses to give that hum effect, just little neat things like that. They were very entertaining.

Well they were done and it was time for Sigur Ros. Sigur Ros played from about 9:00 to a little after 11:00. It was the first time I had ever seen a band and after every song I said to myself "please don't let that me that last one, please play one more. So the entire time they played they had a gigantic screen behind them and for the first and last song they had a gigantic sheer screen in front of them and they shined their light through it so it just formed silouetts on the wall and screen. It was very colorful, vivid, and beautiful.

I never imagined Sigur Ros being intense live, I just figured it would just as mellow as it was on recording, but live they are so loud, dynamic, and intense. You never know whats going to happen next. Songs are much longer with something new around each corner.

I have never seen a band take up so much stage space. The drummer was to the right and he had a medium sized kit but behind him what what I think I saw three keyboards, and on the other side of the state was about 5 keyboards, two zylophones, several guitars, and a string section. Jonsi, the vocalist, was one of the thinest people I have ever seen so when he hunched over to play his guitar with a bow he look zombi like. It was very eerie.

The whole performace was very moving, and as cheesy as it sounds, for me it was spiritaully moving. They would do these dramatic pauses during intense part of the songs and just leave this, at least 500+ capacity room, in dead silence. It was seriously as if I was the only one in the room.

They played every song I wanted them too except the one from Life Aquaitc. I forget the name of it, but it was seriously amazing. Now, after last night, every band I ever see again will suck compared to last night. It was udderly amazing.

I will stop writing and boring you know because honestly, words can't do it justice. All I can hope for is that I get to see them again and to bring more money. All their shirts were $25 because they handmake them in an igloo next to their studio. I just picked up an Anima 10 inch and a button.

It was the perfect evening, and as cheesy as this is going to sound, the only thing that could have made last night better was if my girlfriend was there. She is amazing. Just like Sigur Ros.

Nathan Thompson, Dave Siler, and Neil Vissel,

I'm thinking of getting a new iMac. I'm tired of laptops. If I get one I would do it under the Apple Credit Plan. Is it worth it?

Isis - "Panopticon"
Jedi Mind Tricks - "Violent By Design"
preorderd the new Pelican with t-shirt

This is the EXACT message I put in another board. If you know the answer, PLEASE HELP:

So I got a question.

I bought an FM transmitter for my car. Hate it. Will never use it.

I got a new car (2005 Suzuki Reno) and it came with an MP3 cd player with the controls on the steering wheel, and if I had the option I would like to keep it instead of buying a cd player with an AUX port.

I know you can spend $100.00 to get an interface to just get it to play in your car or something, but is there any other way i can get it to play in my car?

Thanks
Kyle

The show didn't go to well tonight. Straight and Alert and The Tradition were very late (10:00) for stupid reasons. So Bareknuckle and Hold Your Ground played for about two hours hahaha. It was weird, and slow, and boring and stressful, but thanks. I hate people lists on lj but I'm going to make one anyway:

Thanks Ashley for coming down from Pulaski to the show and the 10 year old slumber party at Denny's afterwards. Shows and hang out just isnt the same without you there.

Dane and Elizabeth, thanks so much for helping out as much as you did. You guys rule!

Lance and Stephanie, thanks for the extra money. It was well needed and you guys are awesome people. It made me feel terrible for things in the past. I love you guys.

Bareknuckle, thanks for playing.

Vince, thanks for coming out, it was awesome seeing you!

Susan, thanks for coming all the way out even when you are sick. I always say I'm going to hang out with you at shows but never do. Sorry.

Marie, thanks for actully coming out. I was a douche and didn't hang out with you either. Sorry I was so stressed tonight. I will make a special trip to see you in Florence soon.

Ronnie, thanks for coming out. You helped alot and you are in a stressfull well. Class act dude.

Jennifer and Beave, thanks for coming up from BHAM. Again, sorry I didn't get to hang out much, but it meant alot.

Thanks again to everyone that came out. It meant alot to me. I think I gave the flying monkey people a good first impression.

Everyone check this thing out on ebay, i know its probably fake but its still weird and creepy
